Frequently Asked Questions

General

Q:If my child does not attend Emerson School, can s/he attend Summer at Emerson?
A:Of course! In fact, over 75% of our campers are not Emerson students.

Q:What grade level do I enter for my child?
A:All camps are designed for students completing grades specified in the class description during the 2023-2024 school year. Grade levels are set by the instructors and will not be altered.

Q:Do you accept students who have just completed a Young 5s program?
A:No. Campers who have just completed a Young 5s program and are going into Kindergarten the following year are not eligible to attend Summer at Emerson. Once a full year of Kindergarten is completed and your child is going into 1st grade, they are eligible to attend Summer at Emerson. Incoming Emerson Young 5s may sign up for the Jump Start to Young 5s Program.

Q:Is before and/or after camp child care available?
A:Yes! Before camp childcare is available from 8:00am–9:00am and after camp childcare is available from 4:00pm–6:00pm. Both are available on a drop-in basis at a rate of $10 per hour, billed to your account. There is a strict $4/minute per child late fee for all campers picked up after 6:00pm. Any camper who arrives before 8:50 am or is picked up after 4:10pm will be billed for childcare.

Q:Where can my child keep his or her things during camp?
A:Each child will be assigned a locker on Monday morning to be used for the entire week.

Q:What if my child needs medicine while at camp?
A:That is no problem. All we need is a Medication Authorization Form signed by a parent (found in the Document Center on the main page of the registration site). Prescription medications require a physician’s signature, and all medications must be submitted in their original containers on your child's first day of camp. Our summer Medical Professional, Lauren Vemuri, will be stationed at the front desk every Monday morning to collect any necessary camper medications for the week.

Q:Is Summer at Emerson a nut-free camp?
A:No, our summer camp is not nut-free. Children with allergies will have alternative options for snack if necessary. We will make all accommodations possible to make everyone comfortable and safe this summer.

Refunds

Q:What is your refund policy?
A:Camp balances, less deposit, will be refunded for withdrawals made before May 3rd, 2024. Those who wish to withdraw after this date are responsible for the full fee. Exceptions will only be considered for medical circumstances with a signed doctor’s note.
