    Swimming

Q:Are there lifeguards at the pools during swim time?
A:Yes - Sunny Dayz only visits Township pools, and those facilities are always fully staff during those times.

    Q:Swim Testing
A:Sunny Dayz Camp requires all campers to successfully pass a swim test each week on the first visit to the pool for that week. Campers that pass their swim test may access all portions of the pool facility. Campers that do not pass will be given a wristband to signify to Camp Staff that they did not pass their swim test and must wear a fitted and fastened Type I, II, or III United States Coast Guard approved personal flotation device at all times inside the pool gates (see Cati's Law) and must remain in designated areas deemed appropriate specific to the pool, such as the shallow end of the pool (No slides or lazy rivers).

    Swim Test Requirements:
  • Campers must be able to swim 25 yards without holding onto the wall, standing up, or getting assistance from a counselor.
  • Tread water or float for 30 continuous seconds.
  • Enter and exit the pool safely on their own.

  • Q:Does my camper have to go to the pool if they aren't swimming?
A:An alternative activity will be provided at the recreation center or nearby park for campers who do not wish to go to the pool or who do not wish to wear a life vest at the pool as a result of not passing the swim test.

    Q:What is Cati's Law?
A:Sunny Dayz new swim policy is in reference to H.B. 59, CATI's ACT. Campers will be required to successfully pass the swim test or must wear a fitted and fastened Type I, II, or III United States Coast Guard approved personal flotation device at all times inside the pool gates and must remain in designated areas as deemed appropriate specific to pool amenities.

Campers must demonstrate skills each week, regardless if they have passed a previous weeks swim test to determine if a life vest is required.

We highly recommend that if your camper will be wearing a life vest for each pool visit, that you provide an approved life vest for your camper.

A limited number of approved life vests are available at each camp location.

These age groups will each day divide into smaller groups for activity rotations. If your camper has siblings or friends within their age group at camp they will be able to join the same small group. Campers in separate age groups will not be able to be together for all activities throughout the day. There are times each day where age groups are combined.
