Current Camp Attendees |
Q: | Do you provide lunch? |
A: | Yes! We now have an optional lunch option provided by our very own Chef Ted. Lunch is an additional $10/day. Lunch cannot be added on ala carte and must be purchased for the entire week.
|
Q: | Do you provide snacks? |
A: | We provide an AM and PM snack for campers. Ideally, send items that do not need to be warmed or modified in any way by our staff. We have limited access to refrigerators so plan accordingly. If your child has extreme food allergy we suggest sending your own snacks. Snacks are peanut and tree nut free, and we try to avoid sunflower. We offer milk and lactose-free milk at snack.
|
Q: | How does pickup/drop off work? |
A: | For summer camp, we require that you physically come into the school to pick up/drop off your child at the front doors. Please do not send your child in from the parking lot, or expect them to walk to you in the parking lot. We will not send them out without visual confirmation that you are on their approved pickup list.
|
Q: | My child cannot come to a day or portion of camp, can I send them another day, another week? |
A: | No, we do not allow substitutions. If you wish to transfer from one week to another, there is a $100 transfer fee, pending availability.
|
Q: | My child has a friend over for the week, can i send them to camp as a drop-in? |
A: | No, we currently do not allow drop-in students.
|
Q: | What if I am running late for pick up? |
A: | Please call the school as soon as possible (952/918-1800) to let us know you are running behind and your projected arrival time. Our late pick up policy is as follows:

Q: | What if my Husky Pup doesn't normally nap? |
A: | We require all ECE/Pups aged children to at least lay down on a cot and relax their body for nap time. Some type of relaxation or rest time is a standard that we maintain during the school year and the summer all the way through elementary school at ISM. If your child is not a napper or you would rather they not nap, they will never be forced to nap. If your child wakes up or does not sleep, they will be asked to remain on their cot for 10-15 minutes. Then they will be allowed to get up and do a quiet activity in the room until rest time is over.

Q: | What items should we leave at home? |
A: | o Money – there is no reason any child should need any money during their time at camp. Every portion of camp is paid for already and the vending machines on campus are off limits.
o Electronics – It is best to leave these at home. If you want to send a cell phone with your child, we ask that they remain in their lockers during the day so they don’t get damaged. If you need to contact your child during the day please do it via the school’s main phone line (952/918-1800), the Summer Camp cell phone (952/270-4876), or via email (summercamp@ism-sabis.net).
o Personal items such as toys – We love that kids want to share these items with each other! Unfortunately, these items often get lost, broken, or cause disruptions to the day. We don’t want to see campers sad over these items.

Q: | What should I send with my camper for the week? |
A: | Each camper will get a locker or cubby to store any items for the week. Please send the following items:
• Sunscreen and bug spray labeled with your child’s name
• Water bottle
• Swimsuit and towel (we will try our best to hang these items so they dry between uses but suggest you take it home after swimming to wash and dry these items)
• Life preserver for beach days (if applicable)
• Swimming bag – This bag will function as a place for campers to put their swimming items during the week but also is their bag for beach days.
ECE/PUPS ONLY - All of the above plus:
• Life preservers are required for beach days. The tag on the back of the preserver should say “Coast Guard Approved” on it.
• A change of clothes labeled with your child’s name including socks, underwear, and shoes.
• Nap materials – This could be a small sleeping bag, a roll up nap bag, or a blanket and a small pillow. Old crib sheets often fit well on our cots and provide a nice feeling of home. Feel free to send stuffies or any other comfort items that might help them during this rest time. We ask that campers leave comfort items in their cubby until nap time.
• Please label all items that you bring with your child’s name. We want to make sure all of your belongings come home with you!

Q: | What happens if there is bad weather? |
A: | We have ample room for indoor activities when the weather is not suitable for outdoor play.
|
Q: | What are your COVID-19 policies? |
A: | The school has and will continue to monitor and adapt to the coronavirus situation. ISM recently revised its COVID-19 plan, which is available to ISM families on the ISM website.
