Environmental Action Civics Club 2024
Description
Participants will engage in a 6-week after-school club focused on Environmental Action Civics. Youth participants will share power with adults, practice democratic decision making, and address local environmental problems using civics. And adults are right there beside them, igniting a new generation of decision makers.

Environmental Action Civics is an educational approach where youth work in partnership with adults to identify a local environmental issue and engage with community members to take action by advocating for systemic changes to policies or practices.

A central element of Environmental Action Civics is a commitment to prepare youth, especially those from historically marginalized communities, to engage in local environmental decision making now and in the future.

During these sessions, students will: build resilience, learn, collaborate, research, discuss, advocate, and have fun!

All necessary materials will be provided! Participants will need to wear comfy clothes and close-toed shoes as we spend time outside throughout the club. An optional shuttle will be provided from Bondurant Middle School in Frankfort at 3:20p (school dismissal time) and pick-up at 6:15p

We believe in making our programming accessible to as many people as possible and have scholarships available! Please fill out our scholarship form and turn it into our registrar Bethany: Bethany@lifeadventurecenter.org
