Program Description
Get ready for an epic time of outdoor stellar-ness! Travel with other Girl Scouts to Moab on Friday, set up camp and spend the day Saturday paddle boarding and hiking. Spend some time cooking out and working on steps of various outdoor badges. Program fee covers transportation from Murray to Moab and back, gear rental and instruction for paddleboarding, food and GSU staff supervision/programming.

Note: This is a beginner trip. Prior paddle boarding and camping experience is not a prerequisite. However, participants must be able to swim. The participant needs to be comfortable swimming in moving, open water (e.g., river). Participant is able to (a) jump into the water (feet first), rise to the surface and swim to the edge of a pool, (b) swim 50 yards in one direction without stopping, (c) tread water for two minutes while keeping their head above the water, and (d) float for two minutes. Regardless of swimming ability, all individuals participating in any aquatic activities are required to wear a life jacket at all times.

Participation Type
  • This event is designed to be attended by Girl Scout eligible youth only, but you do not need to be a Girl Scout member to attend. Campers will be supervised by trained and background checked Camp Staff following Girl Scout ratios.
  • Each person is required to register and pay the program fee.
  • If a troop is paying a portion or all of the program fee for a Girl Scout to attend, the troop leader needs to email info@gsutah.org with specifics.
Physical Exam Form
Girl Scouts of Utah will need a Physical Exam Form for each participant; can be completed from a well-child exam from 9/12/2023 to the present.

Packing List
Refer to the Moab Packing List to get a general idea of what your Girl Scout will need for this trip. More information will be shared closer to the program date.

Post-Registration Forms
After registration, additional forms will need to be completed in UltraCamp. These forms include:
  • Additional Health Information
  • Immunizations (we do not need a copy of immunization records; will need the date of their last tetanus vaccination)
  • Physician and Insurance Information
  • Over-the-Counter Medication Permissions
  • Sensitive Issues Acknowledgement
To complete your forms, log into UltraCamp and click the envelope icon on the top right corner of the toolbar or click on “Message Center” from the drop-down list. Incomplete forms and tasks will be listed in the Message Center under Alerts. Click each form, enter the requested information, and click “SAVE”. 

Program Fee and Payment
  • $315 ($50 non-refundable deposit due with registration)
  • Balances due in full by 8/18/2025. If you register after this date, (a) you will be required to pay in full and (b) you will have 10 days to submit Activity Credits in order to have GSU refund your initial payment for the credits.
Activity Scholarships (Members Only)
  • Learn more and apply for an Activity Scholarship here.
  • To receive an award, you must register for the program, pay the deposit, and then apply for a scholarship.
Activity Credits (Members Only)
  • Girls may use Activity Credits to pay for this program.
  • Option 1: Register now, pay deposit with credit card or e-check, mail Activity Credits to Girl Scouts of Utah with a payment form. Pay any remaining balance in UltraCamp with a credit card or e-check. Deposits will not be refunded in exchange of Activity Credits.
  • Option 2: To pay the deposit with Activity Credits, mail them to Girl Scouts of Utah with a payment form. Note: GSU will apply the credits to your UltraCamp account and then families are responsible for the registration in UltraCamp. GSU does not register the participant.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
  • Program deposits are non-refundable.
  • Program fees (less the deposit) may be refunded before the program registration deadline. Cancellations after the program registration deadline will forfeit the full amount of the fee for each person registered.
