Zombie Campout (ODL) (DB) Return of the "Zombie Campout"!. If you like ODL and learning nature and camping survival skills, and want to do a overnight campout, this is the class for you. Throughout the week, campers will learn survival skills such as shelter building, knot tying and map reading, but will also work together to set up a survival base camp site. They will learn real camping skill like securing food safely from wild life, fishing, plant identification, and perimeter and alarm laying. All of which have their place if you were to go camping in the mountains. The slight difference is we use the hypothetical situation of Zombies. Campers will spend the week learning skills one at a time and implementing them into their base camp during their class period. Then at the end of the week, we will put base camp to the test. We will camp out under the stars and wait for the "zombies" to invade. Staff members dressed as Zombies will join forces and test the base camp with a raid. Will the team of campers safely be able to defend their camp? (Note: This is a Double Block class) | |
