Engineering Challenge: Catapulting Creativity
Description
Catapults aren’t just fun — they’re also a fascinating way to explore the physics of projectile motion! Campers will design and build their own catapults that must launch projectiles with precision and accuracy. They’ll experiment with different launch angles, spring tensions, and materials to see how these factors affect the distance and accuracy of their launches. With a target in mind, campers will fine-tune their designs and use basic physics principles to calculate the best angle and force to hit their targets, while testing how different shapes and weights of projectiles affect their launches.
