Bare Tree Winter ID
Description
No leaves? No problem! We’ll use a combination of branching patterns, bud and bark characteristics, habitat, persistent fruits, galls and marcescent leaves to help us ID trees in winter.

We’ll use beautiful Wright-Locke Farm in Winchester as our field site where we’ll take a close-up look at 11-12 common trees.

Bring a hand lens or a good magnifying glass if you have one. Wear some cozy clothing and hiking shoes.

Children 10 years old and up are welcome to register if they are with a registered adult.
