Fishing Camp
Description
During this summer camp, students will learn the basics of the sport of fly fishing. Topics such as the influences of water movements and entomology will be covered, along with explanations of equipment and knots that are used in the sport. The habitat and behaviors of different species of fish, resource conservation, the delivery of a fly, and proper catch and release techniques will be taught in this week-long, comprehensive course. The ultimate goal is to introduce the proper foundation of the sport of fly fishing that students can enjoy for a lifetime. Note: Campers will meet at Charlotte Country Day School and will be bussed to and from the Farm. The last day will be a day trip spent fishing on a local river.
