Adult Ballet Classes
Description
Please see the
CHCA Dance Academy
webpage for more information.
CHCA Dance Academy is not just an after-school program; it is a dance academy tailored specifically for our CHCA students. We offer a variety of levels and styles that include technique and competitive options. Our professional faculty features instructors who have danced and choreographed professionally throughout the United States and carry with them national and regional awards for choreography and performance. If you are new to our studio, it is necessary that you contact the Dance Program Director Melissa Kidd to set up an evaluation to help direct your enrollment options. Contact her at
Melissa.Kidd@chca-oh.org
.
Our program offers an ALL INCLUSIVE tuition system, meaning you are charged a flat fee for classes, costuming, competitions, etc. This makes the financial commitment easy to budget. Traditional studios generally charge tuition and then charge for all of the ‘extras’ throughout the year. The only expenses not covered in CHCA’s program will be personal items (e.g., shoes, tights, hairpins, makeup), competition entry fees and costumes for solo and ensemble performers, and travel expenses.
Program Options are described in detail in our brochure posted on the
CHCA Dance Academy
webpage.
Time and Financial Commitment::
All classes run mid-August through April and coordinate so classes are not held on CHCA holidays. Competitive team dancers will have choreography classes throughout the summer beginning in early June. In addition, competitive team dancers must also participate in one of the summer camps. Competition dates, basketball games, outreach, and other performances will be announced in early fall.
A non-refundable $25 per student enrollment fee (and $75 jacket if selected) is paid upon registration. On August 12, or upon registration if after August 12, 20% of program and instructional fees will be automatically withdrawn; the balance of fees will be deducted on the first of each month for six months (September 1 through February 1). Since class size is limited, the CHCA Dance Academy program will be a yearlong enrollment and financial commitment. For students enrolled in technique and recreational classes ONLY, you will enroll for the year and the fee is based on the full year. However, withdrawals effective for the second semester will be accepted if submitted to the Program Director AND Fine Arts Director using the Dance Academy withdrawal form by November 5. In this case, instruction fees will be deducted through December 1, which effectively means the cost for the first semester will be greater than half of the annual fee. Program and registration fees are non-refundable.
A $25 late fee will be charged beginning 6/9/20 for competition team registrations and on 8/13/20 for tech classes.
Important Scheduling Note::
:
Class maximums vary. Registrations over the limit will be placed on a waitlist and possibly offered another day/time for an additional class if enough students are interested. Students enrolled in the competitive program receive priority registration in technique classes.
Important Registration Note:
When you register here, the system will add two options at $0.00: Program Fees and Instruction Fees. Once you select specific classes on the CHCA Dance Academy Studio Director website, we will update these options to reflect your specific choices, calculate your payments, and add the payment plan for deductions to start August 12 or upon registration if after that date.
