Old and New Covenants (Blended; Pohl)
Description
Summer Courses for Credit General Information

Summer Courses for Credit are restricted to CHCA students enrolled for the following school year. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and opens on 01/27/25.
At registration, you will schedule a future automatic payment for the full amount. Payment is non-refundable and non-transferable after 02/18/25 at 12:00 p.m. Payments collected on 02/19/25. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, the scheduled payment will be cancelled before any fees are collected. If the cancellation impacts your student’s 2025-2026 course selections, you may contact us at that time for adjustments to their schedule.
Email the teacher directly if you have questions about the course content, workload, or syllabus. No classes are held on weekends.
Because summer course schedules are condensed and academic content is uncompromised, attendance is strictly enforced, and a student cannot pass a class for which he/she is not present for the stated meeting times. Please do not register for summer classes that conflict with the student’s other summer obligations.

Old and New Testament Covenants takes students on a journey from Creation to Christ, from Genesis through the Gospels. The course focuses on understanding how the Bible fits together around the major covenants God makes with his people as he redeems a people for himself and renews all creation. There is particular focus given to the nature and character of God as he reveals himself in the Scriptures and our response to his self-revelation. The summer course blends in-person instruction and online, independent work.

The class is in-person for two weeks beginning on Monday June 2 (Monday through Friday week 1, and Monday through Thursday week 2). After the in-person class sessions, the remainder of the course is done online with each week a new learning module using Canvas. All work from the summer course will be completed by Friday August 8. Attendance for in-person class sessions is required each day for those first two weeks without exceptions given the importance of this in-person instruction that prepares to student for independent work. Classes will be 9am-11:30am. If there are any questions, please reach out to via email (william.pohl@chca-oh.org).

Prerequisite: Students will read a chapter of Fee and Stuart's How To Read The Bible For All Its Worth, which will be provided via email and will be accessible in Canvas. This reading will need to be completed before the start of the class. NOTE: The time of 9-11:30 am for in-person sessions is subject to change. Communication of any changes will happen early in April.
