Financial Literacy & Stock Market Investing
Description
We can all agree that basic financial literacy and investing skills are vital for long-term success. In this after-school club experience, students will engage in collaborative opportunities to:
understand the importance of basic economics
get acquainted with common financial terms and concepts
create family budgets and savings plans
track major market indexes
research and present stock investing ideas
explore entrepreneurship
consider the effects of generative AI in finance
share financial literacy with others

The goal of this after school club is to provide students with an early foundation in financial literacy, while offering practical opportunities to share/present ideas. Students should come prepared to discuss real-life financial matters, from home or elsewhere. Mobile phone use will not be encouraged during club meetings; however, students should bring their Chromebooks for certain planned activities. Also, students should have at-home computer access to resources such as Google Finance, etc.
