Song Writing
Description
Using popular music as a starting point, students will get first-hand experience playing in small, popular music style bands using ukuleles, drums, and voice with the opportunity to use music technology or bring in other instruments they may have experience playing. This class will be centered in musical creativity and play, giving students weekly exposure to improvisation, composition, and arranging. Students will learn various individual and collaborative strategies for arranging and songwriting that they will then play with their small groups.
