In this “inventive” program, students design and create solutions to problems, teaming up to identify the need for an invention, and producing real structures and solutions. Students will design and create solutions to problems, teaming up to identify the need for a new invention, and producing real structures and solutions.

Classes will focus on the following topics:

• Week 1: Introduction to the class. Discuss the invention of the toothbrush & toothpaste.
• Week 2: Why do Bubbles pop?
• Week 3: Marshmallow and Spaghetti tower (creating a structure).
• Week 4: Bridges (Who invented them, why they were invented, when were they invented, what was used to build them).
• Week 5: Smartphone.
• Week 6: Phone Speaker (make a speaker for a smartphone).
• Week 7: Telephone (Who invented them, why they were invented, when were they invented, what was used to make them).
• Week 8: Design & Play Steam Plane Kit.
• Week 9: Airplanes (Who invented them, why they were invented, when were they invented, what was used to build them).
• Week 10: Creating with Confidence (Student will get an opportunity to invent something of their own).
• Week 11: Make a car with wheels.
