Food Insecurity-Junior/Senior Community Service Camp
Description
Food Insecurity - Junior/Senior Community Service Camp
Grade 11-12

What would it be like to face the daily struggles of food insecurity? This impactful workshop gives students a chance to explore the realities behind hunger and the difficult choices many families must make.
Through a combination of thought-provoking discussions and hands-on service projects, students will gain a deeper understanding of the root causes of food insecurity and make a tangible impact in the Dallas community. Service experiences will include volunteering with local organizations like the North Texas Food Bank and Bonton Farms.
Detailed daily itineraries, including drop-off and pick-up locations, will be shared by May 15. Join us for a week of learning, empathy, and meaningful action!

Note that participation in this service-learning project fulfills the 15 community service hours required for rising Juniors. Rising Seniors may also fulfill this requirement with this camp but need to discuss with Parish’s Director of Community Service, Shannon Longfield, to confirm before signing up.

Students will need to provide their own transportation to school and to off-site volunteering.
