Reading Safari: The Wild World of Words
Description
Reading Safari: The Wild World of Words (July 7 – 11)
Grades: 1st
Pack your bags, young explorers! In this week-long Reading Safari, rising 1st graders will journey through the world’s most exciting habitats—from the lush rainforest to the sandy desert, the deep blue ocean, and beyond! Each day, we’ll set off on a new adventure, discovering incredible animals while building essential reading skills. As we trek through different ecosystems, campers will spot and identify letters in the wild, listen for phonics clues hidden in animal sounds, blend letters together to form words, and read simple stories to bring our animal friends to life. Along the way, they’ll sharpen their reading comprehension skills through fun, interactive storytelling and games—without even realizing they’re learning!

With a mix of songs, movement, hands-on activities, and exciting animal facts, this afternoon camp keeps young readers engaged and eager to explore. Perfect for rising 1st graders ready to roar into reading and pounce on phonics, this is the ultimate summer adventure for curious minds. Get ready to read your way through the wild!
