NTPA - Willy Wonka Jr.
Description
Willy Wonka Jr. (2-Week Camp)
Grades K-9th
Step into a world of pure imagination in this exciting two-week acting camp! Campers will bring Roald Dahl’s classic tale to life as they sing, act, and perform in Willy Wonka Jr.
About The Show: Enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka is hosting the contest of a lifetime—five golden tickets hidden inside scrumptious candy bars will grant lucky winners an exclusive tour of his magical factory and a lifetime supply of sweets. Among the winners is Charlie Bucket, a kind-hearted boy who embarks on this adventure with his beloved grandfather. But as the children explore the wonders of Wonka’s factory, they must follow his rules—or face the consequences!
Auditions & Costume Details: Auditions will take place on the first day of the camp and all campers will be cast in the show. Each actor will be asked to sing one minute of a musical theatre song acapella and may be asked to read a scene from the script. Roles will be chosen on the first day and scripts will be sent home with each camper. Campers will be required to provide their own simple costume, and parents will receive inspirational images for each character the first week.
Performance Dates: Thursday, July 17 and Friday, July 18 at 4:30 PM.
