Mission Creek Explorers, Sea Lions
Take a step into the Mammal Hall and learn the secrets that have helped California wildlife survive and thrive in the unique biome that is Santa Barbara. Learn the secrets of Seal Blubber and Sea Otter fur, and why the black bear has reigned supreme in the Santa Ynez Mountains. Learn the tracks of coyote and compare them to those of our k9 companions! We will hone our observational skills and learn the ways of the wild.
Are you ready to explore Mission Creek and become a hydrologist, aka a water expert? We will learn about the forces at play that move water through our landscape and support the Mission Creek ecosystem. We’ll get to use scientific tools, like microscopes to examine the littles creatures that live in the creek and learn about the plants and animals that make Mission Creek a rich place for life.
