Junior Geocaching
Description
This class is designed to introduce students to the concept of hidden caches using a map, GPS coordinates, and basic directions. We will search for treasures on the SMH campus, while learning how to use a compass, GPS, and/or a map. Students will be given hints with riddles or geographic instructions and will learn how to find a location using common mapping terms with the aid of Mrs. Khan. They will come home with small "swag" items from their search each day. Bring your binoculars, pith helmet, and a keen eye! Geocaches can be easy to spot but sometimes can be quite challenging to locate. Dress for walking/hiking and warm weather. It's an adventure every day with treasure at the end!
