Archery Sharpen your aim and shooting skills. Your instructor will show you the safest and best way to enjoy the sport. With practice, maybe you can hit the bullseye! When you sign up, you are signing up for the entire week, not for the day. Through the week, you will learn the basics of archery and sharpen your skills. A reminder that all archery students must be at least 12 years old and able to pull back a bow. | |
Basketry Try your hand at the age-old skill of weaving your own basket! Use your creativity to make a reed basket you can use in your home, give as a gift, or just use as decoration. Join us to weave a basket as beautiful as it is functional!
Open to all ages, but anyone younger than 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Ceramics Campers will have the choice to paint a mug, vase, cookie jar, and more. They will also learn that Bisque is not a soup and greenware is not found in the kitchen drawer. Pick your own ceramic ($1-25 per piece) and explore the art of glazes and stains! Open to all ages, but anyone younger than 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Challenge Course Climb a tower or stack milk crates, navigate the High Ropes Course, soar on the Giant Swing, and conquer the Team Wall in the Challenge Course class. Fly Fishing Have you ever wanted to learn the art of fly fishing but weren’t sure where to start? Or
maybe just want to enjoy some time improving your fly-fishing skills in the company of
some friends? For the first time at camp AuSable, with the help of a experienced fly
fisherman, we will learn about the art of fly fishing here on our lake at camp AuSable as
well as on the AuSable River. Open to ages 9+, those under 12 must be accompanied by a parent. | |
Gymnastics (ages 2-5) Gymnastics classes involve large and small motor skill activities including warm-ups to directive music, group games, and skills on the bars, balance beam, and floor. There are two different gymnastics class options. Children between the ages of 2 and 5 meet each weekday morning from 10:30 until 11:30, while children ages 6 to 9 meet each weekday morning from 11:45-12:45. These classes will meet in the athletic shed. If children are not comfortable being left unassisted, parents are welcome to stay; parents are required to stay for 2-year-olds. | |

Horse Riding Class Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider, in this class you can develop your confidence and skills through group riding lessons, guided trail rides, and more! Classes split based on experience. | |
Kids Activity-A-Day A class designed for kids ages 4-8, with a daily sports activity meeting on the ball field and enjoying some time together playing and being active! | |
Kids Craft-A-Day Kids will enjoy trying their hand at fun and exciting art projects! Stop by each day for a different crafty experience!

Plein Air Art This class uses different art mediums such as watercolors, pastels, and paint to create a vivid picture of nature. You will be taken around Camp Au Sable to put the beauty of camp onto paper yourself! Open to ages 12+. There is a $25 sitting fee for this class. | |
Pottery Learn how to create with clay using different techniques such as sculpting, wheel-throwing, and hand-building. Open to ages 12+. There is a $25 sitting fee for this class. | |
Scrapbooking / Card-Making In this class, you’ll have the option to start a personalized scrapbook to hold memories that you will cherish forever. You can create something to remember your week here at Camp Au Sable or other big life events. Please feel free to bring pictures from home.
You will also have the option to create hand-made cards to share with friends and loved ones. You can dream up your own designs or use a readymade kit to create a variety of card styles for any occasion.
Whatever project you decide to tackle, you’ll have access to stamps, stickers, papers, die cuts, pens, and so much inspiration. If you love sharing ideas, preserving memories, and being crafty, this class is for you!

Sewing with Donna This creatively cool class is a week-long commitment. Projects will cost $5-15 depending on the project. Participants must be ages 9+ and if under the age of 12, accompanied by a parent. This class is located in the basement of the Forest Lodge. | |
Snorkling Join us for an exciting Snorkeling Class at waterfront, where we will explore the hidden life just beneath the surface of the water! In this class we will not only learn snorkeling safety but will also learn about underwater plant and animal identification and their unique habitats. | |
Swim Lessons Join us for swimming class as we build our strength, confidence, and skills in the water while learning how to work effectively for Christ in intimidating circumstances, maintain spiritual safety, and invest time in our relationships with God. | |
Water Sports Get ready for the ultimate watersports adventure! In this exciting class we will learn waterskiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, and knee boarding. Whether you're a beginner or already enjoy these sports, our instructors will help you get up and ride the wake! | |
Welding We'd love to see you down at the shop to try out welding! This class meets in the morning but it is open for people to come and go in the afternoon. There is no age requirement if a child is with their guardian. If unaccompanied, must be age 16+. Please come wearing closed toe shoes and long pants. | |
Woodworking You will learn to design your own wooden project with our experienced instructor using a variety of machinery. Safety is always our main concern. Must be 12+. | |
