Girls* Making Space- Girls* Leadership Program
In this weekly program, girls* will engage with biblical, talmudic and contemporary Jewish stories of female figures and creatively rejuvenate them with their own dreams, imaginations, voices and practices that are meaningful to their lives. Through the imagining and creating of new stories and artifacts–weaving words, movement, music, and materials in creating an object that itself is a Midrash–participants will examine themes that are relevant to their lives. This process contributes to the collective Midrash project by including marginalized and/or silenced voices. In an end-of-the-year exhibition, participants will share their voice and journey with the community by presenting their story and an artifact they produced.
* When we refer to “girls” we mean girls, non-binary and trans youth assigned female at birth, gender expansive youth, and trans female.
Audience: 6th-7th grade.

Girls Making Soace will meet every other Sunday 5-7pm from January 5 2024 – May 18, 2025, with an end of year celebration at the beginning of June!

Cost: $550 early bird, $600 after Dec. 15 , 2024
