Adult Earth Skills Series Fall 2024
Description
Fall is all about celebrating abundance and preparing for winter. In this session we will focus on building shelters for our campout on November 9th and gathering and storing food for our final feast on December 14. We will learn fire skills including friction fire. We will use tools including knives, saws and hatchets. We will gather wild edibles and learn about hunting tools and techniques. We will have the opportunity to learn about animal processing for food and hides. No animals will be harvested during program and all hunting and animal processing work is optional and presented with care and respect.

This program will run on select Saturdays from 10am-4pm on September 28, October 5 and 19, November 9 and 23 and December 14.

Our Basecamp and main teaching location will be at 4-H Acres, 418 Lower Creek Rd Ithaca. Other locations for foraging TBD. A pre-program email will give details of where we will meet and what to bring.

Need Childcare? Bring your children ages 5-12 for an additional fee by registering them for the Adult Earth Series- Childcare Add-On program. While you are immersed in your adult program your children will be able to experience their own Saturday Primitive Pursuits adventure with a skilled instructor.
