Pet Portraits
Description
Develop your own style through watercolors in this two-week camp. If you're a pet parent, you'll love the opportunity to immortalize your pet in a beautiful and personalized work of art! Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced young artist, this camp has something for everyone as a way for all to admire your current or past beloved animal friend! Campers will create portraits of their pets and or the animals they meet using the artistic principles they learn. From gaining a mastery of Color Theory and the foundational principals of art composition, to delving into the use of watercolors and mixed media, campers will discover different techniques and styles. Campers will be introduced to kittens, bunnies, or other pets from the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority via our partner at Project HumaneKind, learn about constructive feedback, and become humane advocates. Invite your family and friends on Friday, June 27 for the end of camp showcase exhibition. All materials and supplies, with the exception of a picture of your pet(s), are included with camp fee. Please note there is no camp on Thursday, June 19th in honor of Juneteenth.
As a part of their Montalvo Arts Center experience, all summer campers will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the native plants and animals around the property and its Santa Clara County Park trails.
