Ceramics: Pots + Plants Basics
Description
A fun introduction to ceramics in our open-space Creekside Studio with the Montalvo 2025 Resident Ceramicist, Ashley Magaña! Students will learn the fundamentals of hand building to create functional pots and/or vases to house their new plant friends! These skills are included but not limited to: Pinch pots, Coil building, attachments, kiln basics, and a variety of glazing techniques! By the end of this camp, Students will understand the symbiotic relationship between living things and functional ceramics. Friends and family are invited to an informal camp showcase of the students' works on Friday, July 25. All materials and supplies included with camp fee. As a part of their Montalvo Arts Center experience, all summer campers will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the native plants and animals around the property and its Santa Clara County Park trails.
Campers are encouraged to sign up for this camp and next week’s Ceramics: Wheel-Throwing Basics for ongoing project and skill development.
