Terra Schools has strict privacy practices. This privacy policy discloses the privacy practices for www.terramarin.org. This privacy policy applies solely to information collected on this website. It identifies:
• What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the website, how it is used, and with whom it may be shared;
• What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data;
• The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information; and
• How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.
Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. Only Terra Schools has access to and/or collects the information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We are particularly sensitive to the privacy of the youth we serve. No personal information about youth or adults is sold, rented or traded to third parties.
We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. For example, if you are registering for a summer camp program, we will request information from you on our registration system. To register your child, you must provide contact information (like name, mailing address and email address) and financial information (like your credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to complete your registration (e.g. if we have trouble completing a registration, we'll use this information to contact you).
We use your email to send you email messages that may be of interest to you, tell you about new programs or events, keep you updated on our organization’s activities and fund development needs, and/or inform you of changes to this privacy policy. We may also use information gathered about you to customize the content that may be of interest to you. For example, if you enrolled a child in a youth summer camp, we may use the information to send you invitations to enroll that child in future years.
We use a camp registration service and a credit card processing company to bill users for programs and other items. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes beyond filling your order.
This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.
From time to time, Terra Schools requests information via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and email address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site, our programs or our services.
We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to register a child for camp or to better understand your needs, e.g. in conjunction with a market research study. When we do use a third party, such as a market research firm or a newsletter distribution service, to assist in outreach, we confirm that their privacy policy conforms to ours.
We may also use information, such as IP addresses, gathered from our website to assess website performance, protect our site against unauthorized access, improve website content, or troubleshoot problems. We do aggregate and analyze information gathered from you and other users to help us improve the value of content to our community, improve the design of our site, and assess interest in programs, events and initiatives. This aggregated information cannot be used to personally identify you.
We may disclose information we collect from you if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary (a) to obey the law or comply with legal process served on us; (b) to protect and defend our rights or property or the rights or property of other users of our web site; or (c) to act in an emergency to protect the personal safety of users of our web site or the public.
If we merge or are combined with any other organization, or if we transfer all or substantially all of our assets or operations to another organization, we may disclose information we collect from you to the other organization so that the other organization can continue to provide services to you. The other organization will be bound by this Privacy Policy.

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way using a third-party service. You can verify the integrity of their site security by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our camp directors, registration team or instructors) are granted access to personally identifiable information.
